An erotic-essay film where language, memory and passion bleed into one another. Images of American propaganda and words from Confucius’ Analects echo through scenes of intense intimacy. There is no clear narrative, no named lover, no singular voice, only a multitude of sensation. The red analects explores how speech becomes flesh, how power becomes sex, and how consciousness lives in the rhythms of the erotic.

Directors

YuChen - A queer theory–informed interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker from China, interested in exploring the political dimensions of play, pleasure, and the erotic; with emerging interests in alternative epistemologies such as Traditional Chinese medicine.

Carlos Hurtado Múnera - Experimental filmmaker and media artist from Bogotá-Colombia, focused on the creation of transdisciplinary projects that explore spectral identities and liminalities of the digital image. He has produced essay-films exhibited in festivals worldwide and currently, he incorporates expanded media to his practice in search of new perceptions of the body, territory and memory.
